GROUP CHAT OF 14 PEOPLE AGREES ON DATE FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2023, EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO ‘VIBES’

Friends describe the cancellation as “sad but honestly kind of a relief.”

A Little Cranswick group chat of fourteen former school friends has agreed on a date for a reunion for the first time since 2023, only for the event to be cancelled two days beforehand due to “vibes.”

The chat, named “THE OG CREW 🔥🔥” and later “og crew (we should meet up)”, had attempted to organise a meet-up 22 times. Previous attempts collapsed due to holidays, work, a wedding and one member who “just didn’t like Thursdays.”

This month, after a poll and a spreadsheet, all fourteen confirmed Saturday the 8th. One member described the moment as “historic.” Another added it to her calendar with three alarms.

On Thursday evening, a member wrote “is everyone still feeling it for Saturday?” The question triggered a chain of replies including “I mean I’m down if everyone else is,” “honestly could go either way,” and “the vibes are a bit off tbh.” The event was cancelled within forty minutes.

“Nobody actually didn’t want to go,” said organiser Priya Malik. “Everyone just wanted someone else to say it first.”

Friendship researcher Dr Owen Lacey said plans in big group chats are fragile. “Fourteen people agreeing is a miracle. A single ‘are we still on?’ can bring the whole thing down. Our advice: book a table, put down a deposit and never ask the question.”

At press time, the chat had been renamed “og crew (2027 maybe).”
